Julie Hartley

Julie Hartley holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia, and an MA in English from Warwick University, UK. Her middle grade novel, The Finding Place was released by Red Deer Press in 2015, and her poetry collection. Deboning a Dragon, was published by Mansfield Press in 2019. She is the author of a textbook for teachers entitled Practical Approaches to Shakespeare in the Drama Classroom and her short fiction, articles and poetry have appeared in multiple Canadian and UK publications, including Event Magazine, CV2, The Antigonish Review and Globe & Mail. Julie is the director of Centauri Arts, which runs camps and classes in literary and performing arts for children and youth. Julie is currently working on a fantasy novel for children, and an adult novel set in France in 1944.
