Treasa Levasseur
Treasa Levasseur
She has released 4 albums, one of which was nominated for a JUNO award, recently presented the first staging of a new folk play called Understory, leads pop up choirs across the province at festivals and in community contexts, and is immersed in the creation of a song cycle exploring themes of survivorship and togetherness. She has devised theatrical and musical works with young artists at Theatre Direct, Theatre Aquarius, the Royal Conservatory of Music and the Art Gallery of Hamilton. She believes her life’s work is to guide groups of folks in communal experiences of creative uplift. Treasa is also working on her first novel, as well as a family friendly musical, both set on the water, and is grateful to have time at Halls Island to gaze at the waves and dream into these projects.
